Did you ever wonder how to customize the audience of your Facebook ads? You want only users in a specific location will see your ad? or want to target the married people only? Then by using Audience Insights of Facebook will definitely solve your problems!
In this post, we will learn how to use Facebook’s Audience Insights to further enhance the targeting of our ads.
According to the Facebook ad guru Jon Loomer , Audience Insights is broken down into four steps;
We will follow these steps as we go through in this post.
Accessing Audience Insights
You can access the Audience insights in the Ads Manager.
After clicking Ads Manager, click “Audience Insights”
Facebook will let you choose which audience you want to start.
As a beginner, we will choose “Everyone on Facebook”.
Previously, we created our first Facebook Ad for a Facebook Page–HappyMoms. The objective of this is to generate leads from the Philippines. The ad ran 2 days and HappyMoms reached 9,189 Facebook users all over Philippines. Although it did not get any conversions there were 14 views on our landing page. In addition, the ad got 22 likes and HappyMoms Facebook Page got 5 likes and 42 page engagements.
Now, we will further customize our audience to optimize our targeting.
After we created our audience, we can compare it to a typical Facebook user using the following categories;
2. Page Likes
Note: The data for Household and Purchase categories are for audiences in the United States only.
If we analyze the demographics of our audience, the top age bracket is 25-34 years old (46% of the audience), majority are “single” in terms of Marital Status and almost all reached college. Finally, the top job industries are “Administrative” and “Sales”.
In the Page Likes section, we can see the top categories of pages liked by our audience and the list pages they liked.
We can check the detailed differentiation of our audience according to Cities, Countries and Languages in the Location Section. In our selected audience, most of our audience come from Manila (12%), 2nd is Quezon City (10%) and 3rd is Cebu (7%).
My favorite part is the Activity wherein we can see the frequency of activities our audience is doing and at the same time the devices used to access their Facebook accounts. In our predetermined audience, top activity is Liking of Page and 66% access Facebook using Desktop and Mobile.
After we created our audience and made analysis on it, we can save our selected audience and use for ad targeting.
